Athlete Restoration Lab (ReLab) is seeking an experienced, motivated Athletic Trainer (AT) to support our sports medicine and performance teams on a contract basis. This position is specifically designed to support the NFL Pre-Draft Training Program, a high‑performance 8‑week program beginning January 2026. The role is ideal for professionals who thrive in elite performance environments and excel in interdisciplinary collaboration with strength & conditioning coaches and physical therapists.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on‑field and in‑clinic athletic training services with an emphasis on injury prevention, acute assessment, triage, and care coordination.
- Collaborate closely with strength & conditioning coaches and physical therapists to create integrated return‑to‑play and performance programs.
- Deliver pre‑practice and post‑practice care (taping, soft‑tissue techniques, modalities, equipment checks).
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation of treatments, injury reports, incident logs, and progress notes in the designated system.
- Uphold safety protocols (EAP execution, emergency response, venue‑specific risk assessments).
- Assist with inventory management of AT supplies and equipment.
- Program Duration: 8 weeks (early January – late February).
- Estimated Commitment: ~20 hours per week.
- Coverage primarily based at Frisco Fieldhouse USA, with potential assignments at The PIT or ReLab Plano.
- Hours align with daily training blocks, with occasional weekend or special event coverage as needed.
- This is a 1099 independent contractor role for the pre‑draft season. Contractor is responsible for own taxes, licensure renewals, and insurance.
- Proof of professional liability coverage required.
- Engagement and rate determined based on experience and program commitment; potential for renewal or additional assignments after the pre‑draft period.
Qualifications
Required
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- Current state licensure for Texas
- Current CPR/AED certification for Health Care Providers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional, athlete‑centered demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and adapt in fast‑paced settings
- Flexibility for extended or weekend hours during the 8‑week pre‑draft program
Preferred
- 5+ years of experience as an Athletic Trainer
- Prior experience with collegiate or professional football athletes
- Familiarity with RTP protocols, load management concepts, and performance testing
- Experience using EMR/athlete management systems for documentation
