Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation per established protocols.
  • Attend all home athletic contests to provide training services before, during, and after events.
  • Conduct hours providing services to student-athletes before, during, and after practices.
  • Arrange on-site physicals for student-athletes and teams.
  • Maintain and submit reports associated with athletic injuries, treatment, and care.
  • Maintain a daily treatment log.
  • Communicate regularly with athletic/coaching staff regarding care and treatment of injuries.
  • Provide a comprehensive concussion protocol.
  • Assist in injury prevention program development and sport-specific conditioning.
  • Assist in fitting protective equipment (taping, pads, braces).
  • Create a safe playing environment by monitoring environmental risks.
  • Oversee trainer room and equipment.
  • Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment; provide annual request to Athletic Director.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses, and assist with injury rehabilitation using established protocols for injury/illness referral, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play. The athletic trainer will also be responsible for making appropriate physician referrals and/or follow-ups.
  • Attend all home athletic contests as required for the purpose of providing training services prior to, during, and after events and games for both home and visiting teams.
  • Conduct hours, providing services to student-athletes prior to, during, and following practices.
  • Arrange (when needed) physicals for student-athletes and teams at on-site health clinic.
  • Maintain and submit all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries, treatment, and care.
  • Maintain a daily treatment log.
  • Communicate regularly with athletic/coaching staff regarding care and treatment of injuries.
  • Provide a comprehensive concussion protocol.
  • Aid the coaching staff in the construction and implementation of injury prevention programs, as well as evaluating and implementing sport-specific conditioning programs and methods.
  • Assist in the fitting of protective equipment, including special taping, pads, or braces.
  • Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
  • Oversee and maintain athletic trainer’s room and equipment.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic trainer room and provide the Athletic Director with an annual request for supplies and equipment needed.
  • Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.
