University of Alabama at Birmingham
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Athletic Trainer. The Trainer has direct patient contact primarily for evaluating and treating medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies defined by the Board of Certification and the State of Alabama Athletic Training Affiliated Credentialing Board. This position will outline tasks with minimal supervision in and off the field. This position has access to and knowledge of confidential medical information regarding patients' medical history; access to this information is crucial in evaluating and treating patients and athletes. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds is required.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide preventive and rehabilitative medical treatments for student athletes according to departmental protocol
- Maintain detailed records concerning injury/treatment status
- Oversee and supervise the activities of student and graduate assistants
- Assist with administration duties, such as reviewing insurance and billing information, and maintaining supply inventories

Salary Range: $45,395- $73,770
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Physical or Health Education, Exercise Physiology or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
- Currently certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC). Must obtain licensure for Athletic Training by the State of Alabama upon hire.
