Job summary

Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to serve as the principal provider of athletic medicine for the men's basketball team. Athletic Trainer – University of North Carolina Asheville

Job Summary

The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) serves as the principal provider of athletic medicine for the men's basketball team. Duties include evaluation, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and therapeutic intervention of acute and chronic athletic injuries and illnesses, making return-to-play decisions, and coordinating care with physicians, coaches, parents, and hospital administration.

Qualifications
  • Direct athletic training experience in a collegiate or secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred clinical affiliations in NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, or professional athletics; experience with injury‑tracking systems and neurocognitive testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (required). Master’s degree preferred.
  • North Carolina Athletic Training License (LAT) or eligibility for National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. Current CPR/AED certification required.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Minimum age 21.
  • Preferred: American Heart Association CPR Instructor designation.
