Job summary

Arlington Catholic High School in Arlington, MA is seeking a certified Full-Time Athletic Trainer to serve as the frontline healthcare provider for student-athletes, overseeing prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or BLS certification.
  • Experience in high school/collegiate athletics preferred; new grads welcome.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, calm under pressure, and flexibility for afternoons/evenings.

Athletic Trainer at Arlington Catholic High School

Arlington Catholic is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and certified Full-Time Athletic Trainer to join our athletic department. In this role, you will be the frontline healthcare provider for our student-athletes, overseeing the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Injury Prevention & Care: Provide standard first aid, evaluation, and immediate treatment of acute athletic injuries during practices and home/away scheduled games.
  • Rehabilitation: Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured student-athletes.
  • Game & Practice Coverage: Coordinate and provide healthcare coverage for all assigned athletic practices, home contests, and designated away events.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between student-athletes, parents, coaching staffs, school administration, and team physicians regarding injury status and return-to-play protocols.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain meticulous electronic medical records of all injuries, treatments, and clearances in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
  • Emergency Management: Maintain and execute the school’s Athletic Emergency Action Plan (EAP). Ensure all medical equipment (AEDs, splints, first aid kits) is stocked and operational.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from an CAATE-accredited program.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) certified for Athletic Trainers.
  • Current MA State Licensure (or eligible to obtain before start date).
  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or BLS certification.
  • Experience working in a high school or collegiate athletic setting is preferred, but passionate new graduates are welcome to apply!
  • Strong clinical diagnostic skills, exceptional communication, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a flexible schedule to accommodate afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend athletic events.
