Job summary

Forsyth County is seeking a Recreation Programs Supervisor to facilitate activities, support program operations, and uphold safety, effectiveness, and quality of services for the community.

The role includes directing staff, coordinating daily work, organizing events and facilities, handling registrations, and preparing performance reports, with a focus on positive participant outcomes and adherence to applicable rules and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• First Aid/CPR certification within six months of hire.
• One year experience with youth in camp/educational/program setting.
• GA driver’s license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education or related field preferred.
• Organizational skills; be enthusiastic, adaptable, dependable and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate recreation activities and assist with program operations while ensuring safety, effectiveness and quality.
• Provide direction, training, guidance and assistance to employees; coordinate daily work activities.
• Oversee staff compliance with codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; ensure safety.
• Coordinate daily work activities; organize, prioritize, and assign work; assist with complex situations.
• Plan, organize, conduct, and supervise athletic and recreational programs and facilities for the community.
• Assist in preparing seasonal brochure information; assist customers with program registration.
• Assist with events and facility reservations; schedule activities and rentals.
• Prepare reports on staff and program performance.
