Job summary

Poarch Creek Indians are seeking an Athletic Operations Supervisor to lead planning and daily operations for the tribal sports program. You will oversee staff, manage facilities, and ensure safe, engaging recreational experiences for members and guests.

The role requires strong leadership, coordination across departments, and a commitment to tribal values and community engagement. Occasional non-standard hours and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred in Public Administration, Recreation Administration, Social Services, Physical or Health Education.
  • Four (4) years of related employment or volunteer experience in coaching or supporting organized adult or youth sports programs.
  • One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience coordinating and directing the work of others.
  • Experience working with sports officials is a plus.
  • Must possess First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must possess Mandatory Reporter Training certification or obtain during first week.
  • Must possess ServSafe Certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and support youth and adult sports programs, leagues, and events.
  • Supervise athletic staff and support personnel.
  • Coordinate facility scheduling, setup, maintenance, and safety.
  • Oversee registrations, schedules, uniforms, equipment, budgets, and concessions.
  • Ensure quality customer service and safe, clean recreation areas.
  • Coordinate with Recreation, Tribal departments, committees, and community partners.
  • Support staff training, performance, timesheets, and other personnel matters.
  • Attend meetings and events as required.
