Job summary

Newman University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach to support its NCAA Division II athletic performance program. You will assist with planning and leading strength and conditioning sessions, while promoting safety and teamwork among student-athletes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with coaches and athletics staff, adherence to NCAA rules, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. A CSCS certification and a Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Current CSCS certification from a nationally recognized strength and conditioning organization.
• Experience coaching and developing athletes in a strength/conditioning or athletic performance setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, university personnel, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive NCAA Division II athletic performance program.
• Design and lead strength and conditioning sessions to enhance athletic performance.
• Educate and mentor student-athletes on physical wellness and safety.
• Collaborate with coaches to support individual and team success.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.
