Job summary

University of Montevallo is seeking a Graduate Assistant I in Athletic Media Relations to support home events and publicize UM athletics across print, video, photo, and digital media. You will work 20 hours per week (variable hours) as a part-time, temporary student appointment.

The role involves creating content for social media, assisting during games, and producing game recaps and athlete features while supervising student workers and maintaining digital assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and enrollment in UM graduate degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with social media platforms (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram) and content tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute original text, photo, and video content for website and social media platforms.
• Work at home athletic events (setup, statistics, public address, content).
• Write press releases & feature student-athletes; serve as secondary media contact.
• Supervise student-workers and interns; oversee scheduling and content planning.
• Manage digital media assets and content scheduling across platforms.
• Assist with Media Days, content shoots, and special events.
• Support day-to-day office duties including website maintenance and records.
