Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a skilled Athletic Fields Maintenance Technician to help construct, maintain, and repair city-wide athletic fields for safe and playable surfaces. You will support field renovations for community sports and programs, ensuring top condition across venues.

The role requires knowledge of athletic field maintenance and turf management with basic device use and painting experience. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or GED, HiSET or TASC.
• Experience: Two years as skilled trades helper or semi-skilled laborer in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fields: drag infield, chalk/line according to dimensions, water infield, set bases.
• Perform field maintenance: fill holes, add clay, inspect fields for safety.
• Utilize independent judgment in grounds maintenance activities.
• Install and weekly repainting of athletic fields.
• Ensure proper drainage and address uneven wear on grass.
• Complete field prep list on Sundays in season.
• Perform snow removal as needed.
