Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking an Athletic Field Maintenance Technician to support multiple South Region parks. The role focuses on mowing, aeration, fertilization, field layout, and event setup to keep athletic facilities in top condition for activities.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and capability to operate field equipment while supporting event operations and routine maintenance throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience related to area of assignment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• General computer skills and basic office tools are expected.

Responsibilities

• Set up, break down and clean during events.
• Perform routine cleaning of restrooms and rental facilities.
• Mow, edge, and perform field maintenance on ballfields.
• Assist with brick laying, pipe laying, painting or carpentry tasks as needed.
• Layout measurements and line ballfields for events.
• Operate power mowers, edgers, and related equipment.
• Open park gates and assist with trash removal and maintenance.
