Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a Groundsperson in Pasadena, MD to perform grounds maintenance and assist in the repair and upkeep of school grounds and athletic facilities.

The role requires labor, operating grounds equipment, and supporting seasonal and after-hours work, with a typical 8-hour shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm. A valid high school diploma and driver’s license are expected, with CDL preferred for advancement.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• One (1) year construction, landscape or related experience preferred.
• Ability to be trained and retain knowledge of landscaping and care of plants, transplanting, pruning trees, shrubbery and flowers, asphalt, brick, and cement repairs to walkways, driveways, and storm drains.

• Clears grounds and fence lines by felling trees and removing debris and poisonous plants.
• Assists in dragging, spreading, preparing and leveling playing surfaces and fertilizing, aerating, seeding, of athletic fields.
• Performs maintenance and repairs on artificial turf.
• Prepares athletic grounds for games, meets and athletic contests.
• Assists in the repair and maintenance of concrete and asphalt walkways and roadways.
• Erects, repairs, and maintains chain link fences.
• Assists in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of playground equipment.
• Operates mowers, tractors, grounds care equipment/operates truck with trailer.
• Participates in snow removal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
