Job summary

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School is seeking a dedicated Sports Fields and Facilities Technician to support the Upper School campus in Alexandria, VA.

The role focuses on maintaining safe, high-quality playing surfaces and facilities for multiple sports, reporting to the B&G Campus Supervisor. Responsibilities include daily maintenance of athletic fields, field prep for practices/events, mowing, aeration, irrigation management, pest control, and coordinating with external contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in athletic field or turf grass maintenance.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized turf equipment.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of athletic fields.
• Prepare fields for practices and events with safe surfaces.
• Mark and stripe fields per sport specifications and regulations.
• Mow turf to specified height for athletic activities.
• Implement aeration, moisture control, and top dressing for field surfaces.
• Monitor irrigation; ensure drainage and soil moisture are optimal.
• Coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order maintenance supplies.
