Job summary

Marion Independent School District is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for district facilities and athletic fields. The role involves mowing, planting, irrigation work, and preparing fields for events, with emphasis on safety and compliance with district procedures.

The candidate will follow a scheduled maintenance plan, operate power tools, and support groundskeeping across district sites, including during irregular hours and varied weather

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license is required.
• Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and safely while performing grounds duties.

Responsibilities

• Mow and detail all district grounds, including athletic fields.
• Care for lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers by watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, and weeding.
• Plant shrubs and vegetation; prepare athletic fields for games including chalking.
• Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish, and refuse on district properties.
• Inspect, repair, and install sprinkler systems as needed.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and report unsafe conditions.
