Job summary

Western Connecticut State University is hiring an Athletic Equipment Manager to support a multi-sport program. This full-time, 10-month role covers equipment room operations, inventory, repairs, and game-day support. The position supervises students and involves weekend and holiday hours as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and two years’ equipment experience, plus strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is desirable, with a negotiable start date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Two years’ experience in maintaining equipment is required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication & organizational skills.
• Must be willing to work weekends and early and/or late hours and holidays.
• Experience with Microsoft 365; Multi-lingual or bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assists in all phases of equipment room management for an athletic program with multiple varsity and junior varsity sports.
• Assists in purchasing equipment and supplies and maintains a digital inventory system.
• Maintains and repairs athletic equipment and arranges for reconditioning.
• Coordinates equipment purchases to meet CSCU guidelines and health and safety standards.
• Monitors locker room assignments for home/visiting athletes and staff.
• Greets visiting teams and officials and guides them to training facilities.
• Assists in fittings of protective equipment and may supervise student staff.
• Participates in in-house laundry operations for athletic and university needs.
• Involves in bid specifications and collaborates with Administrative Services on purchases.
• Assists the Director in preparing the annual equipment budget and supports game management.
