Job summary

American Leadership Academy in Arizona seeks an Athletic Director for the 2026-2027 academic year at West Foothills High School. The role partners with the District Athletic Director and Campus Director to oversee all athletic programs and ensure alignment with school policies.

You will interview coaches, coach teachers, evaluate staff, schedule events, procure equipment, and handle stakeholder inquiries. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in a 7-12 environment plus Arizona Fingerprint Clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least three years of experience in a 7-12 environment.
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all athletic programs at the campus and collaborate with District Athletic Director and Campus Director.
• Ensure athletic programs align with ALA policies, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assist with interviewing coaches and athletic staff.
• Collaborate with teachers to improve teaching practices through coaching and PD.
• Evaluate teachers and coaches through formal and informal evaluations.
• Participate in PLCs to review student data and needs.
• Address concerns from stakeholders including parents, athletes, and staff.
• Develop athletic schedules for games, practices, camps, and activities.
• Order and purchase athletic equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for an Athletic Director for the 2026-2027 academic year for our West Foothills High School campus located in Waddell, Arizona. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works with District Athletic Director and Campus Director to oversee all Athletic programs offered at the campus and recommend processes, strategies, and methods regarding the development and maintenance of effective sports programs.
• Ensure the campus's athletic program aligns with ALA and ALA policies, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assist with interviewing coaches and athletic staff.
• Work with teachers to improve their teaching practice through coaching, professional development, modeling, and collaborative planning.
• Evaluate teachers and coaches and monitor performance through formal and informal evaluations.
• Participate in PLC's to review student data, growth and academic needs.
• Resolve concerns and respond to inquiries regarding athletic programs or that may arise between stakeholders including parents, athletes, and coaching staff.
• Develop athletic schedules for games, practices, camps, and other applicable activities.
• Order and purchase athletic equipment and supply for the campus.
• Other duties as assigned.
