Great Salt Bay School is seeking an Athletic Director for the 22/23 School Year.

Compensation: Stipend

Job Summary

This position manages and oversees the school’s athletic programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare a master sport calendar for practices and games/events.
2. Maintain practice and game schedules on Google calendar.
3. Generate and distribute team schedules.
4. Coordinate with the Busline League to schedule officials for home contests.
5. Assist custodian supervisor with gymnasium, building, and field use requests.
6. Coordinate gym and field use for practices and games.
7. Determine weather conditions relative to practices and games to ensure safety.
8. Work with coaching staff and transportation supervisors to schedule transportation.
9. Assist in hiring coaches for the athletic program.
10. Coach sports teams when qualified coaches are unavailable.
11. Serve as a resource and coordinator for all coaches.
12. Enforce school concussion policy and ensure coaches have concussion training.
13. Hold coach and family meetings before each season to share Athletic Code information.
14. Ensure athlete eligibility by checking physicals and participation paperwork.
15. Monitor and enforce GSB Athletic Code eligibility policy.
16. Provide a channel for students and community concerns about athletic programs.
17. Mediate issues between coaches, students, and parents/guardians.
18. Assist in supervising at home athletic contests.
19. Responsible for game setup and takedown of all home contests.
20. Attend all league championship games involving GSB.
21. Attend Busline League meetings and serve on a committee.
22. Submit yearly athletic budget.
23. Order necessary equipment annually.
24. Maintain uniform inventory and distribution process.
25. Maintain equipment inventory and replacement plan.
26. Report athletic information monthly to the school board via the Principal’s report.
27. Maintain an advisory role with All Sports Boosters.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Prior successful experience in a school setting or with children.
2. Coaching experience.
3. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
4. Proficiency with Google tools (Calendar, Mail, Drive) and PowerSchool.
5. Good judgment and ability to work amidst interruptions.
6. Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid, bloodborne pathogen, and blood spill training.
