FRYEBURG ACADEMY

Athletic Coach

Purpose

Fryeburg Academy, a 700-student Day And Boarding High School In Western Maine And The Mount Washington Valley Is Seeking Coaches To Lead Programs Within Our Athletics Department During The School Year. We Are Currently Accepting Applications For The Following Positions

• Mountain Biking, Head Coach (Fall 2026) - Stipend $3,689
• Mountain Biking, Assistant Coach (Fall 2026) - Stipend $1,426

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school or college playing experience is preferred.
• Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes and parents.
• Hold a valid drivers license and be able to transport athletes in an Academy vehicle. (Our insurance company requires all drivers to be at least 26 years old.)

• Inspire student-athletes with a commitment to the school's mission and the philosophy of the athletic department, appropriate coaching techniques, a healthy team environment, and professional growth.
• Demonstrate a clear coaching philosophy that aligns with school and department vision and values.
• Establish a level of instruction and training that is developmentally appropriate for our student-athletes.
• Display sport-specific knowledge and an ability to effectively teach it.
• Abide by and support rules, policies, and expectations of the athletic department, the school, and state athletics associations.
• Embrace a healthy pursuit of competitive excellence
