Job summary

CHANDLER HIGH SCHOOL in Chandler, Arizona is seeking an Athletic Coach for the Girls Basketball Varsity Assistant position. The role reports to the Athletic Director and supports the athletic calendar and program operations.

Responsibilities include planning practices, teaching fundamentals, and maintaining safety protocols while promoting sportsmanship and character. This stipend position requires CPR/First Aid, NFHS certifications, and a valid AZ driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Arizona Driver's License.
• DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification is required.
• NFHS Course: Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors.
• NFHS Course: Concussion in Sports.
• NFHS Course: First Aid, Health and Safety.
• NFHS Course: Fundamentals of Coaching.
• NFHS Course: Heat Illness Prevention.
• Additional course certifications as required by sport type.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices that develop individual and team athletic skills.
• Teach sport-specific fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Promote student-athlete growth, sportsmanship, and positive character.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
• Coach during games with professionalism and prepare teams for competitions.
• Prioritize athlete safety and follow injury prevention and emergency protocols.
• Establish and enforce team expectations aligned with policies.
• Communicate with students, parents, administrators, and athletic staff.
• Assist with program administration, including equipment, records, and documentation.
• Comply with school, district, and athletic rules and standards.
