Athletic Coach

Position Type: Part-Time

Responsibilities

To carry out the goals and objectives of the athletic program in accordance with school administration and Spartanburg High School Athletic Policies. Instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary to develop individual and team success. Serve as head coach or an assistant coach with all aspects of the athletic program.

Qualifications

Prior coaching experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Requires work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis.

Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural or compositional characteristics (…) of data, people or things.

Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information.

Language Ability: Requires the ability to read various documents and speak with poise, voice control and confidence.

Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply logical thinking, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions…

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.

Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide, determine percentages and decimals, determine time.

Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape, and visually read various information.

Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using office equipment and communications machinery.

Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items including computer keyboards, office equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.

Color Discrimination: Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.

Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions; adaptable under moderate stress.

Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk and hear, including telephone communications.
