Job summary

Unrivaled is seeking a Manager of Sports Medicine to coordinate medical care for athletes across the league, reporting to the Director of Medical. This role blends clinical judgment with administrative leadership in a fast-paced pro basketball environment.

You'll manage day-to-day operations, coordinate physician and specialist scheduling, maintain confidential medical records in the EMR, and liaise with WNBA team medical staffs to ensure continuity of care and safe return-to-play decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant sports medicine experience with a professional sports team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related discipline.
• BOC certification and licensure-eligible in required jurisdictions.
• Current CPR/AED certification (Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer).
• Experience coordinating care with physicians, physical therapists, and other providers, and documenting in an EMR system.
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic/sports injuries and return-to-play processes.
• Prior leadership or administrative experience in sports medicine operations.

Responsibilities

• Support daily sports medicine operations across practices, games, and tour stops.
• Evaluate, treat, and manage athletic injuries; coordinate rehab and return-to-participation plans.
• Escalate significant medical concerns to the Director of Medical or physicians.
• Assist with emergency action plans and procedures.
• Maintain treatment areas and manage medical inventory.
• Coordinate care with WNBA medical staffs and external providers.
• Document evaluations and treatments in the EMR.
• Provide leadership when delegated and oversee contracted medical personnel.
• Build athlete relationships and promote an athlete-centered culture.
