Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the Integrated Training Systems Software Development team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on designing, developing, testing and deploying the Advanced Training Domain (ATD), a shipboard combat system trainer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline with 3 years of relevant experience.
• 3 years of experience in systems engineering.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Linux platforms.
• Previous experience with C++ and Java software.
• Experience in implementation and testing of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI).
• Ability to develop a task plan and then execute the plan.
• Security+ certification (or must obtain within 3 months of hire).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and must hold an active DoD secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.
• Develop and execute Level 3 Test Procedures against Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) or equivalent.
• Conduct regression testing in lab environments and aboard ship (when required).
• Provide on-site support for installations and system verification (up to 10% travel).
