Job summary

CEXEC, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own the FAA ATC Voice Communications specifications and IRDs. The role bridges operational needs with technical execution, coordinating with users, test teams, and vendors to ensure reliable, interoperable voice systems.

You will lead end-to-end documentation, influence ED-137 adoption, and oversee lifecycle management across FAA programs, with global interoperability considerations and international standards involvement.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident with ability to obtain clearance
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in ATC voice systems or related field
• Demonstrated experience leading design, development and documentation of critical aviation or mission-critical comms infrastructure
• Travel 10 to 30% of time

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end development, update and delivery of FAA Technical Specifications and IRDs for ATC Voice Communications
• Lead documentation as the primary owner, ensuring alignment between Specs and IRDs across FAA programs
• Collaborate with FAA users, test teams and vendors to refine requirements and secure concurrence
• Review ICDs from vendors to ensure designs match FAA IRD requirements
• Support vendor system design reviews and provide expert evaluations during source selection
• Maintain dialogue with test teams to ensure requirements are testable and understood
