Job summary

ChanceLight, Inc. seeks an At-Risk Mentor to support an Alternative Education program in Chicago, IL. You will manage a student portfolio, provide strategic case management, and partner with families and educators to foster growth.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, data-driven interventions, and coordination with clinical and classroom teams to ensure successful student outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills tested.
• Associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
• Valid IL driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Crisis management training certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience guiding and supporting children in alternative/behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage a focused portfolio of students identified by attendance, academics, and behavior.
• Provide strategic case management and individualized student support.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and support teams to drive student success.
• Lead re-entry planning for students returning from suspension or extended leave.
• Use data tools to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
