Job summary

Visiting Angels of Longview is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients across East Texas, including Carthage. You’ll provide compassionate in-home care and support wellness according to care plans, with flexible schedules and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include personal care, meal planning, light housekeeping, transportation, medication reminders, mobility support, and companionship. Training in dementia/Alzheimer’s care is available to expand your skills.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License, car insurance, and a Reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required.
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care.
• Feel confident in your physical endurance for activities like carrying groceries and assisting clients.
• Willing and able to comply with health and safety standards (e.g., background check).
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Handle light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide companionship and support.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications.
• Provide assistance with mobility at home and during appointments.
