Visiting Angels of Bettendorf is hiring At Home Caregivers to support clients throughout the Quad Cities area, including Davenport and Bettendorf. The position offers flexible schedules, competitive wages, and growth opportunities.

As an At Home Caregiver, you will assist with personal care, mobility, meal planning, light housekeeping, and companionship, with training available in dementia care. A valid driver's license is required to transport clients.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Driver's License and ability to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is provided if needed
• Reliable transportation to client homes and flexible schedule are expected

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assist with light exercise or walks
• Plan and prepare meals with clients
• Perform light housekeeping
• Report health changes or incidents
• Provide companionship and safe, supportive presence
• Assist with shopping trips and transportation as needed
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed

As a Visiting Angels At Home Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

At Home Caregiver Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at onceReliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
