Job description

Job Title: ASU Assistant Plant Manager

Manage business risks and plant activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.

Essential Functions
  1. On-call duties to cover absences.
  2. Lead safety initiatives promoting hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective actions.
  3. Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas.
  4. Oversee daily production planning, logistics, ROC coordination, and operational efficiency.
  5. Manage resource scheduling, training, performance, payroll, and contractor relations.
  6. Handle production data, work orders, POs, purchasing, and maintenance projects within MAPS system.
  7. Calibrate and maintain process and product analyzers.
  8. Assist with startup and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.
  9. Implement predictive maintenance programs to identify and resolve equipment issues proactively.
  10. Ensure accuracy and currency of work instructions and documentation.
  11. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, quality standards, and regulations (OSHA, FDA, ISO, EPA, etc.).
  12. Support business continuity, emergency response, and loss prevention programs.
  13. Drive continuous improvement in safety, human resources, supply chain, quality, compliance, and efficiency.
  14. Participate in management reviews and quality systems.
  15. Lead incident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
  16. Manage small improvement projects and process optimizations.
  17. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Associate's degree in an industrial field plus 10 years of related experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Reliability Maintenance, Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical).

Work Experience: 7-9 years in industrial air separation manufacturing and management; 1-3 years in reliability engineering and project management.

  • Effective team management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of risk management, loss prevention, and asset management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Organizational skills for multitasking and prioritization.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and experience with process equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and operate measuring/testing equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Occasional physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and operating in industrial environments. Work schedule varies, including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential remote work. Exposure to various environmental conditions and safety hazards is possible.

Must sign NDA, have a clean driving record, and pass background and drug tests.
