Job summary

Advanced Space in Westminster, Colorado is seeking a 2027 Navigation Summer Intern to join the astrodynamics team and contribute to spacecraft navigation and mission design projects.

You’ll work with experienced staff who mentor you through hands-on navigation challenges, trajectory analysis, and research on real space missions. Expect exposure to Kalman filters, data fusion, Python and MATLAB work, and regular updates through reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Strong foundation in orbital mechanics and computer programming.
• Interest in spacecraft navigation, mission design, or estimation theory.
• Experience with astrodynamics coursework or space systems preferred.
• Curious, collaborative and eager to learn from engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support spacecraft navigation and astrodynamics projects.
• Work on trajectory analysis and advanced mission design concepts.
• Contribute to projects using Kalman filters and data fusion.
• Develop nonlinear filtering algorithms and AI/ML applications for navigation.
• Present project results through reports and presentations.
