Job summary

CohnReznick's Hartford office is seeking an Assurance Senior Manager to lead client engagements within the Construction Industry Group. The role combines pre-engagement planning, engagement execution, deliverable development, and billing oversight, with a focus on building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality work.

This position emphasizes collaboration, professional integrity, and proactive communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and active CPA required.
• 7+ years of work experience in public accounting.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills (verbal & written).
• Experience with CaseWare or ProSystem FX is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engagement Manager on client accounts, handling pre-engagement planning, execution, deliverable development, and billing/collections.
• Develop detailed engagement work plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor status and communicate adjustments to management.
• Build strong client relationships and demonstrate high-quality, ethical work.
• Act as primary client contact and ensure timely/proper communication and billing.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections.
• Develop a detailed engagement work plan, illustrating budgets and schedules.
• Monitor project status against the work plan and communicate schedule adjustments to CohnReznick management.
• Develop a professional relationship with the client.
• Gain the respect and confidence of the client by consistently demonstrating supreme customer service, quality work products, and professional integrity.
• Serve as the prime point-of-contact to the client.
• Ensure that the client is fully informed of engagement progress and logistics.
• Gain the respect and confidence of the CohnReznick team through effective client management, timely and accurate communication, and clear and concise team direction.
• Prepare timely and accurate bills for professional services rendered.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:

• 7+ years of work experience in another public accounting firm
• Bachelor's Degree and active CPA required
• Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX
• Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills

In Connecticut, the salary range for a Assurance Senior Manager is $130,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
