Job summary

CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm seeking an Assurance Principal to join one of our Northeast offices. The role leads at the highest level, delivering client advisory, service advocacy, relationship development, and leadership across assurance engagements.

Best suited for a CPA with 8+ years of public accounting experience in financial statement preparation and audits. Compensation ranges by location and experience, with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance.
• CPA license required.
• 8+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with great clients.
• Assume full responsibility for all services for clients in a book of business.
• Review and sign engagement letters, discuss assignments with clients and staff, and approve fees.
• Review and approve work papers prepared by staff.
• Periodically review engagement progress to ensure proper execution.
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines, and attend final client meetings.
• Communicate engagement status, client problems, findings, and recommendations to managers and staff.
• Assist clients in obtaining necessary funding to positively impact their community.
• Assist clients with meeting audit and financial planning objectives using available tools.
• Lead staff development, mentoring, and overseeing client engagement teams.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines.
