The purpose of this consultancy is to significantly enhance UNICEF's Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI) by strengthening its data analytics and business intelligence capabilities. The consultant will develop a sustainable, semi-automated or automated approach to assurance mapping and related audit analytics. This involves improving the existing assurance mapping model and creating a dynamic analytical solution, preferably using Power BI or similar technology. The goal is to facilitate the seamless integration, analysis, visualization, and updating of assurance coverage data. Furthermore, the consultant will develop analytical tools and outputs applicable to other OIAI processes, including the audit universe, risk assessment, audit planning, and annual reporting, ensuring a comprehensive enhancement of OIAI's analytical functions.
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the further development of OIAI’s assurance mapping and related audit analytics. Key tasks include maintaining and enhancing the current Excel-based assurance map, consolidating and integrating relevant assurance and audit data from various sources. A primary responsibility will be developing a more automated and dynamic solution, ideally utilizing Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools. This includes producing analytical tools and visualizations to effectively support assurance mapping, the audit universe, risk assessment, audit planning, and reporting processes. The consultant will also be tasked with rigorous testing of the developed solutions, comprehensive documentation of analytical processes, and supporting the handover of these solutions to OIAI staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and sustainability of the new capabilities.
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in data analytics, data management, business intelligence, data visualization, analytical research, or other related areas is required. This experience can include internships, academic projects, or other practical assignments involving data extraction, structuring, analysis, and presentation.
