Job summary

Boos & Associates, a Professional Corporation, is expanding its Long Beach office and seeks an experienced Assurance Manager to lead planning, field work, and wrap-up of audits while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

You will supervise a team, foster staff development, manage client relationships, and contribute to firm growth through superior service delivery and proactive engagement profitability management.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years prior work experience in public accounting required
• Prior significant supervisory experience
• Extensive experience in external auditing, preferably in Big 4 or National accounting firm.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating diverse teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships and interact effectively with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Business acumen and a strategic mindset to contribute to business development efforts.
• Ability to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Ability to be responsible for business development and marketing.
• Ability to be responsible for engagement profitability including billings and collections.

Responsibilities

• Engagement management: supervise, direct, and review results during planning, field work and wrap-up stages of an Audit engagement.
• Ensure engagement profitability involving billings and collections.
• Advise clients on accounting, regulatory risks, GAAP/GAAS issues.
• Documentation, testing, and assessment of financial reporting control systems.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff with training and performance feedback.
• Review work for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Promote a collaborative, positive team environment.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
• Identify client needs and offer tailored solutions including opportunities for additional services.
• Monitor compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
• Stay current on industry developments and changes in accounting and auditing standards.
• Assist with internal quality control initiatives and processes.
• Contribute to business development and networking; assist in proposals and presentations.
