Job summary

RSM is seeking interns to work with mid-market clients across industries, developing client-facing relationships and gaining experience in accounting and auditing. Interns participate in multiple team engagements yearly and collaborate in a respectful team environment to integrate their career with personal life.

Responsibilities include understanding client needs, auditing approaches, risk assessment, substantive testing, and drafting financial statements under prescribed formats.

Qualifications

• 90 credit hours completed.
• Working towards BA/BS degree or equivalent from accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Travel to assigned client locations is required.
• Must have access to reliable transportation to those locations.

Responsibilities

• Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and GAAP/GAAS issues.
• Developing an understanding of the RSM audit approach and tools.
• Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure.
• Performing substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats.
