Job summary

Midway University is seeking a part-time Assistant Softball Coach to join our athletics program in Midway, KY. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Coach to recruit student-athletes, provide skill instruction, and support academics while ensuring compliance with NAIA rules.

Responsibilities include coordinating practice sessions, maintaining field operations, and assisting in travel logistics. Evening and weekend availability, plus background check, are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior coaching experience at high school or collegiate level is highly desirable.
• The ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes is preferred.
• This position will require a background and driving record check.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

• Adhere to University and NAIA policies and procedures.
• Assist the Head Coach and administration to ensure that all team members have completed all the required eligibility forms prior to participating.
• Coordinate and evaluate as-needed coaching/training sessions, ensuring that effective principles, techniques, strategies, and methods to achieve sport proficiency is happening; observe student-athletes during practice to determine opportunities for growth.
• Maintain confidentiality with office and team related issues.
• Assist in the maintaining of the softball field.
• Assist in driving vans to and from tournaments.
