Job summary

Midway University in Midway, KY is seeking a part-time Assistant Softball Coach to join our athletics program. Working with the Head Coach, you will help recruit student-athletes, provide skill instruction, and support academic and compliance activities.

Responsibilities include adhering to university and NAIA policies, coordinating practice sessions, maintaining confidentiality, assisting with field maintenance and travel to tournaments; evening and weekend hours and background check required.

Assistant Softball Coach

Midway University is actively seeking a part-time Assistant Coach to join our softball program. Working closely with the Head Coach, the successful candidate(s) will play a pivotal role in recruiting talented student-athletes, providing skill instruction, offering academic support, and ensuring compliance.

• Adhere to University and NAIA policies and procedures.
• Assist the Head Coach and administration to ensure that all team members have completed all the required eligibility forms prior to participating.
• Coordinate and evaluate as-needed coaching/training sessions, ensuring that effective principles, techniques, strategies, and methods to achieve sport proficiency is happening; observe student-athletes during practice to determine opportunities for growth.
• Maintain confidentiality with office and team related issues.
• Assist in the maintaining of the softball field.
• Assist in driving vans to and from tournaments.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior coaching experience at high school or collegiate level is highly desirable. The ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes is preferred. This position will require a background and driving record check. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
