Job summary

Michael Page US is assisting a Charlotte-based General Contractor in hiring an Assistant Project Manager for commercial construction. You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires 3+ years as an APM with a GC, experience on multifamily or commercial projects (ideally $10M+), and proficiency with Procore, CMiC, and P6.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Assistant Project Manager with a General Contractor.
• Experience managing multifamily or commercial projects - $10M+ ideally.
• Experience in preconstruction is highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with PM software (Procore, CMiC, P6).
• Thorough understanding of industry best practices, processes, standards, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, business aptitude, and professional character.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of project plans including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate project activities and ensure adherence to timelines.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors for seamless execution.
• Review drawings and specs for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor project budgets and costs; implement cost controls.
• Track costs, identify overruns, and mitigate risks.
• Enforce quality controls to meet standards and specs.
• Address issues to prevent delays and ensure project success.
• Communicate status, updates, and issues to internal team; prepare regular reports.
