Job summary

Michael Page US is assisting a Charlotte-based General Contractor in hiring an Assistant Project Manager for commercial construction. You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires 3+ years as an APM with a GC, experience on multifamily or commercial projects (ideally $10M+), and proficiency with Procore, CMiC, and P6.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Assistant Project Manager with a General Contractor.
• Experience managing multifamily or commercial projects - $10M+ ideally.
• Experience in preconstruction is highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with PM software (Procore, CMiC, P6).
• Thorough understanding of industry best practices, processes, standards, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, business aptitude, and professional character.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of project plans including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate project activities and ensure adherence to timelines.

Job Description

Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Charlotte will be responsible for:

• Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate project activities and ensure adherence to timelines
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets.
• Track project costs, identify potential cost overruns, and implement cost control measures.
• Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure construction meets industry standards and project specifications.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in construction projects and develop mitigation strategies.
• Proactively address issues to prevent delays and ensure project success.
• Communicate project status, updates, and issues with internal team.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, budget, and other key performance indicators

The Successful Applicant

Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Charlotte should have:
