Job summary

Gordon Prill, Inc. seeks an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support project managers and field teams on commercial, Bio/Life-Science, light industrial and high-tech manufacturing projects from early planning to closeout.

The role emphasizes contract management, scheduling, subcontract coordination, and owner relations. Ideal candidates have 3–10 years of Construction Management experience, a BS in CM/Engineering, and hands-on field management.

Qualifications

  • 3–10 years of experience in Construction Management or related field.
  • Local to SF Bay Area and familiar with local markets.
  • Must be able to review and comprehend project bid documents and requirements.
  • Must be motivated, detail oriented, responsible, punctual, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment yet able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist primary Project Manager with buy-out, scheduling, subcontracts and cost control.
  • Coordinate meetings with Owners and Subcontractors and publish Minutes.
  • Oversee on-site QA/QC, safety, and daily logs.
  • Maintain project documentation and correspondence with stakeholders.

Immediate Opening for Assistant Construction Project Manager
DESCRIPTION:

This positioninvolves working with other construction personnel as well as in-house design and engineering staffto facilitate proper management of commercial, Bio/ Life-Science, light industrial andhigh-techmanufacturing construction projects, oftenon a fast-track basis.The work involves contract management,construction scheduling, subcontractor coordination,Owner relations,quality assurance and enforcement of safety policies. Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project is aplus. Capability of managing on-site field activities (Superintendent role) also a plus.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Work with in-house Architects, Engineers, Designers and Construction Personnel (PM / Supt) on multiple sized projects from $50k to $10M.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and manage a variety of project aspects in assisting primary Project Manager:
    • Buy-out (Purchasing)
    • Schedule development, tracking & recovery
    • Subcontracts
      • Scope development
      • Contracts
      • Correspondence / LOI / Warranty
      • Submittals / RFIs / CORs
      • Changer Order Management (both Prime Contract and Subcontracts)
      • Invoicing
    • Conduct project meetings with Owners and Subcontractors and publish Minutes
    • Jobsite Safety / Risk Mitigation / Job Hazard Analysis
    • Daily Logs
    • Project Cost Control
    • Document Control
    • Correspondence with all Project Stake-Holders
    • Implement on-site QA/QC Program
    • Coordinate Inspections / TCO / Final Occupancy
    • Coordinate final acceptance / Punch list / Warranty
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 3-10 years of experience in Construction Management with role as Field Engineer, Project Engineer or Assistant PM, with wide range of project size from $50k to $10M
  • BS in Construction Management, Engineering or similar discipline preferred
  • Hands on field management experience a plus (Superintendent role)
  • Must be able to review and comprehend project bid documents and project requirements
  • Must be motivated, detail oriented, responsible, punctual, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work well in team environment yet also be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be local to SF Bay Area and familiar with local construction markets and contractors
