Job summary

The Department of Natural Sciences seeks a tenure-track teacher-scholar to teach in our organic chemistry program and to lead a student-centered undergraduate research program in computational chemistry. The department serves Pitzer and Scripps Colleges, located in Claremont, CA, within the Claremont Colleges consortium, and supports collaborative, interdisciplinary science.

The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2027, with a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• PhD in a chemistry-related field and a record of scholarly publication.
• Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student-centered research.

Responsibilities

• Teach organic chemistry and related courses.
• Lead a student-centered undergraduate computational chemistry research program.
• Develop and teach upper-level electives and courses for non-science majors.
