California State University, Northridge (CSUN) invites applications for up to two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Organic Chemistry within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The successful candidate will teach introductory and general chemistry at the undergraduate level, and organic chemistry and related topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants should have a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in chemistry with organic chemistry focus.
• Clear potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate/graduate courses in person.
• Evidence of mentoring diverse undergraduate/graduate students.
• Productive research experience in forefront organic chemistry.
• Robust independent research plan including data publication and external funding strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory and general chemistry at the undergraduate level.
• Teach organic chemistry and related topics at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Maintain weekly office hours and participate in faculty governance and assessment.
• Contribute to equitable outcomes through teaching, mentorship, and scholarship.
• Possibly teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, or online as needed.
