Job summary

Rutgers University—New Jersey Medical School in Newark seeks a Cardiothoracic/Liver Transplant Anesthesiologist for a full-time, non-tenure track position. The clinician will manage anesthesia for complex cardiac and liver transplant cases and mentor residents in a teaching hospital setting.

The candidate must be BC/BE in Anesthesiology with a Cardiothoracic subspecialty, hold or be eligible for NJ licensure, and demonstrate strong clinical and academic credentials.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent doctorate required.
• Board-certified or eligible in Anesthesiology with Cardiothoracic subspecialty required.
• Active or eligible New Jersey medical licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site anesthesia services for adult cardiac and liver transplant surgeries.
• Deliver intraoperative and didactic teaching to residents and fellows.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and participate in Faculty Development programs.
• Engage in research advancing the discipline clinically and academically.

Education

Medical Doctorate (MD) or equivalent

Board-certified/Board-eligible in Anesthesiology with Cardiothoracic subspecialty
