Job summary

Williams College invites applications for a tenure-track position in British or Anglophone Literature, 1800-1950, at the level of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2027. We welcome applicants in any area of British or Anglophone literature and culture from this period, with interdisciplinary interests including film and media studies, and transnational approaches.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment.
• Tenure-track position at assistant professor level.
• Ability to teach introductory and advanced courses in British or Anglophone literature (1800–1950).

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of introductory courses as well as more advanced courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
• Participate in interdisciplinary programs and collaborations within Williams College and the Clark Art Institute.
• Contribute to an active honors program and interdisciplinary initiatives.
