Seedway is seeking an Assistant Manager for Regional Sales in the Pacific Northwest, based in West Richland, WA. This role supports day-to-day management of junior sales resources, oversees warehouse operations, and drives seed sales across an assigned territory in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Specialists.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field and at least 4 years of seed selling experience, with willingness to travel and work

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for assisting with the day to day management of junior sales resources to ensure that all seed trialing and sales functions are maintained and grown.

Responsible for ensuring that warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsible for sales of all seeds , within an assigned territory, working closely with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Specialists for the purposes of selling to customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Conducts seed sales calls with targeted customers and assists crops specialists with key account calls

Implements company goals and objectives that will grow the seed business and develop profitable relationships with customers

Provides leadership for the development and/or implementation of all seed trials and seed support needs

Assists with and implements seed sales strategies that generate profitable sales

Implements innovative sales programs and pricing strategies

Participates in selected sales activities, i.e. customer meetings, trade shows, sales meeting to keep abreast of sales trends and sales environment

Creates and manages a farm proposal by providing value-added seed products, services, and recommendations on a frequent basis

Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints

Keeps accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities

Maintains a current knowledge of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends

Completes and maintains a competitive analysis for all key competitors

Quotes prices, and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and promotes the use of credit programs as a sales tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit

Works with Microsoft Office products and other proprietary software to enhance business processes and maximize efficiency

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintains industry and university contacts to keep informed on developing trends and product introductions in assigned product areas

Creates and participates in presentations during customer meetings and trades shows as required

Maintains the assigned vehicle according to company standards

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply

Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture, marketing, or other related discipline and a minimum of 4 years seed selling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate strong reasoning ability to solve practical problems and handle customer and/or operational issues

Demonstrated GROWMARK core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Must be able to travel independently and overnight

Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal”

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
