Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years working in a collegiate, community/civic, or professional performing arts venue box office using a professional ticketing software application (Paciolan highly preferred).
Position Summary
This position provides daily administrative support to the Performing Arts Center ( PAC ) Box Office Manager and assists with all aspects of selling tickets to performances presented by the Performing Arts Center, School of Music, Dept. of Dance, UGA Theatre, and rental events. Under the direction of the Box Office Manager, this position oversees the recruitment, training, and daily management of student employees and serves as an important direct contact to donors, customers, and university personnel. The position participates in special projects and initiatives relating to customer engagement and marketing as assigned by the Box Office Manager, Marketing Director, or PAC Director. The Assistant Box Office Manager assumes most or all of the essential duties of the Box Office Manager in the manager's absence. Extensive evening and weekend work required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of box office and ticketing procedures.
  • Knowledge of UGA's financial policies and procedures and prior experience with marketing, publicity, and sales.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and transport equipment to other ticketing locations on campus as needed.

Under the direction of the Box Office Manager, recruit, train, and supervise up to 20 student workers for day and event shifts during regular business hours as well as evening and weekend hours for performances. This position creates the needed student worker schedules accordingly.

Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities
Participates in all aspects of issuing tickets to performances and daily administrative functions of the box office, completes reports as requested by other members of the department, attends meetings for professional development, works at various venues as needed, and assumes tasks of the box office manager in his/her absence.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the marketing director and PAC director with special projects, patron communications, special marketing projects, and other projects as needed.

Group ticket sales to community and school organizations.
