Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Spirit Squad to provide evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for student-athletes with emphasis on practice and event coverage.

Responsibilities include travel with teams, adherence to NCAA and conference rules, and flexibility with non-traditional hours, nights, weekends and some holidays; minimum qualifications include CAATE-accredited degree, BOC/NATA certification and Nebraska licensure

Qualifications

• CAATE-accredited degree in athletic training (Bachelor's or Master's).
• BOC/NATA certification and ability to obtain Nebraska state licensure.
• CPR/BLS emergency response certification required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel with Spirit Squad and work non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat and rehabilitate student-athletes with focus on Spirit Squad.
• Provide coverage at practices and events; occasional team travel.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference and institutional rules.

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER-SPIRIT SQUAD

Perform a variety of duties involved in the administration, evaluation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of student-athletes within the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. The focus of responsibilities will be with the Nebraska Spirit Squad including practice and event coverage, and any required travel. Working with the teams will involve some non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, some holidays. Adherence to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations will be required.

Criminal history background check and driving record check will be conducted. Excellent benefits including staff/dependent scholarship program. Applicant review begins August 26. Minimum qualifications: Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's degree from a CAATE accredited program). BOC/NATA certification and ability to obtain Nebraska State licensure required.
