Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Spirit Squad with evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes during practices and events. Coverage may include travel and non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities include working with teams under NCAA and university policies, and ensuring compliance with safety and confidentiality standards. A professional degree and BOC/NATA certification are required, with licensure in Nebraska

Qualifications

  • Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's degree from a CAATE accredited program).
  • BOC / NATA certification and ability to obtain Nebraska State licensure required. Emergency response certification (CPR, BLS) necessary.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

  • Provide practice and event coverage for the Spirit Squad; travel as needed.

Assistant Athletic Trainer - Spirit Squad

Description Of Work

Perform a variety of duties involved in the administration, evaluation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of student-athletes within the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. The focus of responsibilities will be with the Nebraska Spirit Squad including practice and event coverage, and any required travel. Working with the teams will involve some non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, some holidays. Adherence to all NCAA , conference, and institutional rules and regulations will be required.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's degree from a CAATE accredited program).

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as full-time certified athletic trainer within NCAA or professional athletics preferred.
  • Previous experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to student-athletes in a Division 1 program preferred.

Posted Salary $54,000/yr. minimum
