About the Role
We are looking for an experienced wealth management professional — someone who has worked on financial plans, excels at problem solving, client service, investment management, tax planning, and estate planning.
As a part of Benchmark’s advisory team, the Associate Wealth Advisor takes ownership of client relationships, key deliverables, as well as custom projects, and is focused on learning all that is necessary to become a successful lead advisor at Benchmark. Additionally, in partnership with our operations team, ensures we meet our service standards, complete client requests in a timely manner, and exceed overall client expectations.
What You Will Do
- Build and present comprehensive financial plans across cash flow, tax strategy, risk management, wealth transfer, and advanced scenario modeling
- Execute portfolio construction, rebalancing, and ongoing investment management using Tamarac and custodial platforms
- Prepare portfolio performance reviews and meeting materials; contribute meaningfully to client meetings
- Apply tax-aware planning strategies in coordination with clients' CPAs, using Holistiplan for tax analysis and scenario projections
Client Relationships & Service
- Serve as a trusted, reliable point of contact for client relationships at Benchmark — proactive, detailed-oriented and successfully manages tasks of carrying priority
- Prepare meeting agendas, lead or co-lead client meetings from data gathering through implementation and own post-meeting follow-through with accuracy and precision
- Coordinate with clients' estate attorneys, CPAs, and external advisors on multi-disciplinary planning situations, using Wealth.com for estate workflows
- Support participate in charitable and legacy planning process to include legacy letter composition
- Conduct life insurance needs analysis, policy reviews, and assist with the insurance application and approval process
Business Development
- Cultivate referral relationships with CPAs, attorneys, and other centers of influence
- Participate in prospect meetings and progress toward independent client acquisition
- Build a “natural network” of potential client relationships/prospects
What We Require
- 2–4 years of post-undergraduate experience in wealth management, financial planning, or at an RIA
- CFP® designation attained or actively pursuing. Benchmark supports exam preparation and continuing education
- Series 65 or Series 66 licensing required, or actively pursuing
- Life and health insurance licensing required, or to be obtained within 180 days of hire (Benchmark fully supports)
- Proficiency in eMoney or comparable financial planning software; experience with Holistiplan, Wealth.com, or Tamarac
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, financial planning, economics, or a related field
- A demonstrable track record of client relationship work
What Sets a Strong Candidate Apart
- CFP® in hand and demonstrating depth across multiple client types and disciplines
- RIA or fee-only experience
- Exposure to HNW or UHNW client situations — business owners, liquidity events, complex estate structures, multi-generational planning
- Genuine business development instinct — comfort initiating relationships, building referral pipelines, and thinking about the client acquisition side of the business
- Ambition to be a part of the leadership and ownership of a firm
Salary commensurate with experience, credentials, licensing, and demonstrated client-relationship capability. In addition:
