Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Orlando seeks an Associate Vice President to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex residential land development projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor managers, and ensure technical excellence in alignment with company standards.

The AVP represents the firm in client and industry settings, supports business development, and coordinates with executive leadership to optimize staffing and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering discipline) from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive engineering experience, including senior-level project leadership and people management responsibilities.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor managers, project leaders, and senior technical professionals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential land development projects through planning, design, permitting, and implementation.

This role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring technical excellence, operational consistency, and alignment with company standards and values.The AVP operates at a strategic level, guiding project execution, mentoring managers and senior staff, supporting business development efforts, and serving as a key liaison between technical teams and executive, administrative, and financial leadership.
