Reporting to the Senior Vice President for External Relations (SVPER), the Associate Vice President for External Relations (AVPER) is a senior member of the Temple University Health System (TUHS) External Relations team and works closely with senior and other leadership, Faculty, clinicians, and prospective donors to execute the strategic vision, planning and execution of philanthropic initiatives to support the mission and growth of TUHS and its interests. The AVPER will lead all prospecting and coordination efforts for TUHS' portion of the comprehensive Campaign for Temple University and its Health System; and oversee major and principal gift programs ($500,000+) to ensure robust donor support. Specifically, the AVPER will coordinate efforts with the central Institutional Advancement Office at Temple University to manage major and principal prospects and track the ER team's progress relative to the initiative known as the 'Temple 150', representing the highest level Presidential prospects, as well as to manage an individual portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, corporations and foundations (CFR) to secure significant philanthropic investments that enhance patient care, medical research and other community initiatives. The AVPER will also manage a team of event and fundraising professionals, including (CFR) staff with whom he or she will set goals, providing direction and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. This position requires a strategic, results-driven leader with expertise in healthcare philanthropy, exceptional communication and writing skills and an inviolable commitment to advance TUHS' mission of providing high-quality of care to all.
