Job summary

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the state or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance license, if applicable, by start date.
• USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire.
• Experience with anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline spays, neuters, dentals).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor under stress.
• Strong telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing exams, diagnosing diseases, and offering preventive care.
• Maintain clear, concise medical records.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate day hospital care and transfers to overnight care as needed.
• Participate in rounds and disseminate knowledge to staff and hospital partners.
• Ensure continuity of care and follow-up for diagnostics.
• Perform routine and complex surgical and dental procedures as needed.
